Mary E. Alcock is President of the firm Alcock & McFadden Employment Consultants, Inc., specializing in areas of general Human Resources, staffing, sourcing strategies and the employment process. She has over thirty years experience in Human Resources with an emphasis in Employment, Staffing and strategic Human Resources. Her experience spans the fields of Telecommunications, Technology, Bio-Related (Technology, Medical Device, Pharmaceutical), Manufacturing and general service industries. She has consulted the past twenty years in such areas as directed technical and scientific sourcing, Human Resource infrastructure development, employment process systems, compensation programs, equity and multiple staffing projects.
She has additional experience with candidate evaluation, system development, compensation packaging, training, transition management and conflict resolution. Her broad-based experience covers a wide spectrum of businesses at various stages of development and includes extensive expertise working with emerging and mid-stage organizations. Mary holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from SDSU as well as Certification in Employee Relations from the Institute of Applied Management and Law. Prior to forming her own company, she worked with other consulting organizations and divisional and functional responsibilities for Fortune 500 organizations in Human Resources and general business. She taught for 20 years in Human Resource Management with UCSD's Extension Certificate Program. She has served on UCSD's Advisory Board for the HR Extension classes. Mary has been a finalist in San Diego Women Who Mean Business Award Program. Additionally she served as an appointed Commissioner for the City of San Diego's Human Relations Commission and serves on the Board of BEDC as Vice President and is the Chair of the BEDC Compensation Survey Committee.
